The novelty wore off. Beautiful views, poor accommodation.

We stayed in on of the beach front treehouse bungalos. It was out of neccesity, as everywhere was booked up for full moon party and we wanted to stay cose to our friends who were staying in the area.

The bed was big and comfy. There was a tree not only in the middle of the bed room but also in the bathroom. At first we didn't mind as it was a bit of a novelty. After a while we noticed a lot of ants, and the windows were darkened plastic slats that did not close. No aircon and the shower was warm sometimes, but never hot.

There was a 5 night minimum booking required, and had to pay in advance. We ended up leaving after 3.

Also, we found the staff (I think its family run) to be unfriendly. We heard the owner have a blazing row with a canadian couple one day and found it to be very unperfessional.

Very basic bungalows. Ants reminded me of nature. Not a dream beach, and water extremely shallow. Swimming possible during high tide only in the morning. Dodgy staff, not very friendly. Light in my place went dead when the place was full prior full moon as power was limited. Don't think of eating there. Quiet place to relax. You get what you pay for:cheap price equals cheap service and little if any value.

We did a 3 week stint in Thailand with every intention of moving on from Ko Phangan after a few days. Field Paradise Village changed everything and we ended up staying for the remainder of our holiday!

Peter and Ying run one half of the family resort set on the south coast of the Island. The setting is beautiful. The beach is quiet but with plenty of bars just up the sands. You're close to the main town of Thong Sala with some fantastic restaurants within easy reach by walking or moped and there plenty of local shops.

The accommodation we stayed in was a fan bungalow with a little porch (complete with hammock) and a bathroom. We were very comfortable and happy with our bungalow, especially as the bungalows overlook the beach. The price was very reasonable and Peter offered to reduce the rate when we said we were staying for a few more days.

The star attraction of the resort had to be our hosts; we were really made to feel a part of the family. Peter has excellent local knowledge and sorted us out with everything (mopeds, day trips, restaurant recommendations etc). Ying's cooking was wonderful and some of the best we had in Thailand; we spent a lot of time (and bhat!) in the restaurant. The prices are really cheap and you get big portions. There's a huge choice on the menu and if there was anything we said we particularly liked it would be ordered especially the next morning.

We were very sad to leave after our 2 weeks in Field Paradise Village. We would highly recommend to couples who are looking for cheap accommodation without sacrificing on the quality of the experience and who want a quiet/idyllic beach that is still close to the bars and restaurants of Thong Sala and Haad Rin.

Just approach/ask for Peter and his partner Ying and they'll sort you out with the quality of accommodation we experienced.

Quiet and peaceful

Steps from the beach & quiet

Stayed in a standard fan bungalow. Had a good stay, it was quiet and steps away from the beach. It was a good location, with restaurants and a few shops right out on the roadside outside the resort. The room is what you would expect, nothing fancy but a bed, fan and bathroom. But that's all we needed. One downfall about the room was the fact that there was about a 2 foot drop into the bathroom, they really need to add a step, could be very dangerous. The location was good, about a 10 minute drive to Haad Rin and 10 Min to Thong Sala. Second downfall was the staff was hard to find at times and never did clean our room or change our garbage which piled up after 4 days on the balcony.
